Located in the northwest just east of 215 beltway ‘Lone Mountain’ currently provides a stunning backdrop and multiple recreational opportunities to Clark County residents. Phase V of the Lone Mountain Regional Park incorporates additional recreational opportunities that are not found in other traditional Clark County Parks. What makes this park unique and special for Clark County is its focus on equestrian use. Horses are accommodated in the park with the construction of a 2 mile equestrian loop trail that surrounds the mountain, a covered equestrian arena, two round equine pens (one 60′ round pen and one 40′ round pen), and horse trailer parking. In order to accommodate riders of all abilities an ADA accessible horse loading ramp is provided to allow for users of all abilities to mount their horse.
Keeping with the equestrian use of the site a shaded playground was designed centralized on the equestrian use. Elements of the playground include a full sized concrete horse with saddle for kids to ride, concrete fallen logs and climbing structures, as well as ADA accessible equipment including a roller table. The park has been designed for small groups to ride and train their horses in the arena as well to allow whole families to come and spend the day together. The facility boasts a covered picnic pavilion with BBQ’s and is connected to the previous phases of Lone Mountain Park.
