This project included several site enhancements needed to give the facility a much needed face lift. The irrigation system was completely retrofitted to replace the existing system that had been damaged by vandals and fire. The new system included a state-of-the-art controller, vandal resistant low water use emitters, and lower maintenance connections. The landscape improvements included removal of overgrown, damaged trees which allowed new visibility of the site signage and opened up the view for passing vehicles.

Other improvements included new trees throughout the parking areas, groundcover plantings and larger rock were added to stabilize existing slopes and prevent run off, an entry feature made of vertical placement of large sandstone slabs, and a fresh layer of rock groundcover throughout the site – including a public art element of an abstracted desert tortoise on a forgotten sloped area adjacent to the parking.
