The Acacia Demonstration Gardens are a feature of the City of Henderson’s Acacia Park. The 2.8 acre has 19 gardens, demonstrating beautiful and water-smart landscapes. Some of those gardens include:  an Allergy Friendly Garden, a Cactus Garden, an Outside Living and Entertaining Garden, a Dry Wash Demonstration, a Mediterranean Garden, a Native Garden, a Wildlife Friendly Garden, and a Turf Demonstration Area.

These areas were created to be user-friendly, and tie together in a learning sequence – for the average homeowner, as well as the horticultural specialist.  Plant types were selected for their attractiveness, hardiness, water-efficiency….and most importantly, for their appropriateness in the Las Vegas Valley environs.

JWZ donated our design services for this project because we felt it was important to have this kind of a demonstration facility in the south part of the valley.   Visitors have commented that they enjoy the relaxing and educational experience that walking through this garden provides.
