Centennial Hills Hospital
Centennial Hills Hospital’s opening in 2008 filled a vital need for medical services in the rapidly expanding northwest portion of the Las Vegas valley. The campus currently houses the 165 bed, 100 million dollar hospital, and the first of two Medical Office Buildings.
Special site considerations include the ground-level helipad, and grade changes. Due to drought restrictions, the typical turf groundcover for the helipad area was not allowed. We instead utilized large decorative rock in a creative pattern with a swale that both addressed the wash-out concern from the helicopters and the site drainage needs. In keeping with a natural theme, a dry-stack boulder retaining wall was used to address the nearly 10-foot grade difference between the main hospital building and adjacent medical office building.
